News regarding opening of shops till 8pm from today are baseless: Nasir Shah

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister, Nasir Hussain Shah has said that a committee has been constituted to probe the fake domiciles’ issue in the province.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Nasir Hussain Shah that so far 154 suspected domiciles have come to light from four districts, included Larkana, Kashmore, Ghotki and Jamshoro.
The minister asserted that strict action will be taken against those holding bogus domiciles and they will be terminated from their jobs.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that certain cases of dual domiciles have also surfaced that have been highlighted in the preliminary report which has been sent to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
He said, “If anyone has evidence, present it, adding that further action will be taken.” Shah said that the committee will complete its findings in a month and would enact laws against the misuse of fake domiciles.
Earlier, Pakistan Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) had submitted a resolution on the issuance of fake domiciles and Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) in Sindh Assembly on June 2.
According to resolution, the provincial government should take severe action against the people who have issued fake documents.” MQM-P also demanded complete implementation of rural and urban quota in recruitment for job applications from grades 16 to 22.
Transparent jobs should be provided in Sindh and local people should be recruited for Grade 1-15 jobs in the government sector, the resolution read.
Citing to the Lyari Building incident, Nasir Hussain Shah said that there are an estimated 422 derelict buildings in the metropolis. He said people are putting their lives, adding that they do not want to evacuate their houses because of the fear of becoming homeless.
He said “The provincial government is working on the replacement of dilapidated buildings, among which many dates back to the pre-independence era,” Shah disclosed.
On June 7, a multi-story building collapsed in the city’s Lyari area after which a rescue operation began in the area to recover bodies and shift the injured to the hospital for treatment.
The rescue operation is underway for the third consecutive day during which bodies of three women were pulled out from under the rubble. So far 13 bodies, which include those of four women, have been recovered from the wreckage.
