ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the extension in the suspension of domestic flight operations till May 13 in order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The authority took to Twitter and said, “As per the decision of the government, the suspension of domestic flight operations, as effected earlier, has been extended up to Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at 2359 hours PST.”
As per the decision of the GoP, the suspension of Domestic flight operations as effected earlier has been extended upto Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 2359 hours PST. Remaining provisions as applicable to the suspension of domestic flt reflected in previous orders remain unchanged.

“Remaining provisions as applicable to the suspension of domestic flights, reflected in the previous orders, would remain unchanged,” it added.
The suspension of the flight operations had been getting extensions from time to time in the wake of the rising number of coronavirus across Pakistan.
Earlier, the federal government imposed the ban on domestic flights till May 10. However, the Centre gave special permission to special flights and chartered planes to operate in Pakistan.
However, on May 7, the aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan asserted that it has been decided in the meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to resume domestic flight operations.
Earlier on March 26, the government suspended all types of domestic scheduled/non-scheduled, chartered and private aircraft passenger flight operations for a period of one week initially.
