ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters today (Thursday) along with federal ministers and advisors.
AS per details, ISI Director-General Lt General Faiz Hameed received them upon arrival at the headquarters.
According to a statement issued by the PM House, PM Imran received a comprehensive briefing on internal and external challenges faced by the country including the impact of COVID-19.
The premier lauded the services and sacrifices of the country’s spy agency and directed that no effort be spared in defending the national sovereignty and security.
It is pertinent to mention here that ISI Director-General Lt General Faiz Hameed called on Prime Minister Imran Khan last week at PM office in Islamabad.
According to details, the two exchanged views on matters related to national security.
Earlier today (Thursday), PM Imran had said that the war against coronavirus pandemic can only be won through national unity.
The statement came during the Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Telethon that was held to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
PM Imran termed the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme transparent and said that cash assistance of Rs 12,000 rupees was being distributed among 5.437 million beneficiaries across the country.
