KARACHI: Sindh government health authorities have reported 227 new cases of novel COVID-19 in the province, taking the total number of patients in the province to 2,767.
According to data, 152 cases have been reported in Karachi, 35 new cases in Khairpur, 6 cases in Shaheed Benazirabad, 7 cases were reported from Hyderabad and 8 new infections confirmed in Tando Muhammad Khan.
Five more deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in Sindh during the past 24 hours, taking the provincial total to 61. The death toll in Karachi stands at 55. Number of 635 people have recovered from the disease so far and a total of 1600 tests were conducted today.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country rose to 8,418 after 425 new infections were reported during the last 24 hours. Number of 1,970 patients have recovered from the disease, while 17 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll currently stands at 176.
The total number of tests conducted, so far in the country stands at an access of 10,4302 with 4,873 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. 36 people in Pakistan have recovered from the coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
Moreover, a 72-year-old doctor succumbed to the COVID-19 in Islamabad. This is the second death from the contagion in the capital. The federal government had extended the lockdown across the country till 28th April for containing the pandemic.
