ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has developed software for making urgent passports amid coronavirus lockdown, sources claimed.
According to details, the software has been developed by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan and would soon be launched for public use.
Sources relevant to interior ministry have informed that the software will allow Pakistani nationals to make a passport on an emergency basis from their homes.
Sources further revealed that after receiving the application, the interior ministry will inform the applicants regarding the further process through emails.
Sources also revealed that the purpose of developing the software was to implement the precautionary measures and to avoid large gatherings.
“The software will ease the problems faced by the applicants and the Interior Ministry, while the risk of spreading coronavirus will also be decreased,” sources said.
So far, coronavirus has claimed lives of more than 120 people across Pakistan and has affected more than 6,500 people. Punjab remains the worst affected province from coronavirus with more than 3,000 infections.
