ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the overseas Pakistanis to donate generously to the ‘Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund’ in order to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video message to overseas Pakistanis today (Monday), PM Imran said that the entire world was facing challenges from coronavirus pandemic, adding that almost half of the world was under lockdown.
PM Imran reiterated that coronavirus pandemic has adversely affected the world economy, including Pakistan, which resulted in a rise in poverty around the globe.

The Prime Minister asserted that in the ongoing tough situation, Pakistan wants additional financial assistance in the PM’ relief fund, adding that overseas Pakistanis should come forward in this situation and contribute to help their country.
Referring to relief funds of other countries, PM Imran said that the United States has allocated a stimulus package of $2.2 trillion for their people, while, France and Germany – having a smaller population than Pakistan – announced a $1 trillion packages for their people.
He said, “On the other side, Pakistan could only manage $8 billion for the relief fund” adding that in this situation the federal government wants overseas Pakistanis to donate generously.
The Prime Minister also expressed the confidence that with the help and cooperation of Pakistani youth, Corona Tiger Force, and overseas Pakistanis we will succeed in the fight against coronavirus.
