KARACHI: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged to 5,362 after new cases were reported in several areas across the country on Monday.
According to government data, until 12: 20 am today, the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose after new 255 new cases were reported during the past 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Control Centre, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 93, while at least 1,026 patients have fully recovered across the country.
The confirmed cases in Punjab stand at 2,594 making it the worst-hit province in the country with 23 deaths followed by Sindh, 1,411 (30 deaths), Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, 744 (34 deaths), Gilgit Baltistan, 201 (3 deaths), Balochistan 230 (2 death), Islamabad 119 (1 death) and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 40.
Globally, Authorities have recorded more than 1.7 million cases and as many as 108,000 deaths since the COVID-19 emerged in China’s Wuhan city in 2019.
