KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has issued directives to expedite the relief activities across the province.
The governor along with other PTI leaders on Saturday visited the Corona Command and Control Centre established at the Governor House Karachi to guide the people of the province about the COVID-19 epidemic.
Imran Ismail also visited the call centre and received briefing on the distribution of ration among the poor families in the province.
Talking to media Ismail said so far the centre has received more than 100,000 calls, whereas the work is continue for the resolving of 12,500 complaints .
He also appealed to those suffering from COVID-19 symptoms to immediately contact the Command and Control Centre.
The governor said “Ration is being distributed among the needy families in Tharparkar, Larkana, Tando Muhammad Khan, Karachi, Hyderabad, and other parts of the province.”
Imran Ismail said that the government is committed to providing relief to vulnerable sections of society amid the COVID-19 epidemic.
He highlighted the steps taken by government to help the health sector and medical community by giving them provision of personal protective equipment.
Governor Sindh also called for setting aside political differences and devising joint approach to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
The governor said all political parties should work together during the testing time, adding that they were giving necessary food items to poor families through different welfare organizations in Sindh.
Earlier, Imran Ismail had lauded the doctors and paramedics and said they were the front-line soldiers in the fight against COVID-19, adding that whatever they were demanding for their safety should be given to them.
