KARACHI: Encroachment officer has illegally begun occupying the government land in North Karachi.
Reportedly, the encroachment officers living in the North Karachi’s sector 2 located near Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Police Station; have illegally occupied the government’s land. The officers had started illegal construction on the fourth floor of a 120-yard plot in Sharifabad.
Despite complaints, no action has been taken against illegal construction. SBCA Liaquatabad’s directors, deputy directors, and inspectors are also involved in the matter. A man named Khurram began illegal construction in North Karachi’s plot no. R1 while the occupied land belongs to the Green Line project.
Mafia activist Khurram Kala pretends to be an encroachment worker. He receives money from the for illegal occupation. Even the SBCA officials are involved in illegal construction.
Illegal construction has been underway for the past several days at Block-2 of the Sharifabad in House No. R 227 /1 of the F.B area. As per the Supreme court’s orders, only 2-storey is allowed in the area’s houses, but builder Sajid Qureshi has built the fourth floor on a 120-yard plot, which is a violation of SC’s orders.
Despite the complaint of the local authority, no one, including the SBCA, has taken action against the illegal construction. The builders had threatened the locals as they complained against him.
The people of that area have urged the area’s SHO and top officials to stop these illegal constructions. According to locals, they have serious objections as the construction of this floor will greatly affect the privacy of the residents living in the building.
Various political, social and religious organizations, including the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Minister for Municipal Affairs, IG Sindh, Chief Controller of Buildings Chairman Baldia District Central have been requested to immediately take the action and protect the residents of the area. They also requested to take strict action against the accused officers and police of that area.
