ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed to control illegal construction in the Jinnah Garden housing scheme located in the federal capital.
The Federal Government Employees Cooperative Housing Society at Jinnah Garden has handed over the construction to RSA Builders in contravention of the regulations while the corporate department of the CDA has yet to take action. According to rules, the housing society cannot carry out any construction activities without the approval of the regulatory.
The members of the housing society had alloted the construction to a private builder and also issued a tender in this regard. A member of the housing committee has revealed that the society’s current management, just like the previous management, is only concerned about making money through such activities. He revealed that NOC of the housing society has already been annulled.
In this regard, the housing society has already released the contract by alloting numbers themselves to the paper rolls and files which have not even been received. The corporate department of the CDA has not taken any action after allegedly receiving hefty amounts to approve the illegal construction.
Thousands of members have been carrying these roll files in local courts and institutions to received justice to no avail. He revealed that the remaining assets of the housing society are been deposed without the approval of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Well-informed sources revealed the society’s farmhouses located in Gulberg Greens and Navy Anchorage have been the sold off among infighting. He said the management of the housing society has failed to gain the trust and support of the committee and has been involved in underhand practices.
It has been revealed that corruption worth billion was already done in the housing society. The matter has raised in the National Assembly and an audit report of the housing society was presented showing financial regularities and the submission of illegal and bogus files.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has conducted an enquiry on the directives of the Supreme Court which revealed the massive corruption but no action had been taken and the investigation remains suspended.
