Pakistan International Airline has suspended all its international flights till March 28 amid the outbreak of coronavirus.
According to spokesperson of PIA Abdullah Khan, this move comes into effect tonight (Saturday) at 8 pm, adding that this does not mean that Pakistani airspace has been closed.
The PIA spokesperson also confirmed that the national carrier decided to cancel the international flights on directives of the government.
He said the move is to curb the outbreak of the coronavirus as many cases in Pakistan were reported in people who had a travel history.
The spokesperson also informed that all tickets will be refunded and if someone wants to change their tickets to date after March 28, no charges will be applicable.
“The airline will decide if it wants to extend this closure after March 28, the spokesperson added.
Coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged past 510 in which Sindh has reported the most confirmed cases. So far, three deaths have been reported in the country.
