KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh and police on Monday claimed to have apprehended 27 suspected criminals from different areas of the megacity.
A spokesperson for Sindh Rangers said the paramilitary forces conducted raids in different areas of the city, including Saeedabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Ferozabad, Ittihad town, Korangi, Lyari and detained 25 suspected criminals for their alleged involvement in several street crimes.
The spokesperson further said in another targeted actions by a rangers and police teams in Garden and Karli areas detained two drug peddlers, Sohail and Javaid. He said that the arrested criminals were handed over to the police for legal formalities.
The rangers also recovered drugs, weapons, stolen motorcycles, and other stuff from the suspects’ possession.
Earlier, on 10 March, Pakistan Rangers Sindh had claimed to have apprehended three most wanted suspects of a gang involved in a murder of a man and over 150 crimes incidents in Karachi.
According to a rangers’ spokesman, the arrested accused were identified as Amir Nawaz, Haider Khan and Saeed Mohammad and were arrested in an intelligence-based operation.
The spokesman said the accused were also wanted to Kohat Police in several criminals’ cases. He said the accused fled from Kohat to Karachi to escape their arrest and were hiding in the metropolis.
The Rangers Sindh on request of SSP-Investigation Kohat had apprehended the three suspects. Citing the initial probe the rangers officials stated accused Amir Nawaz, Haider Khan and Saeed Muhammad allegedly involved in more than 150 criminal cases.
