ISLAMABAD: In cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Rafiq-e-Hajj Committee would begin Hajj training of selected pilgrims from next week.
A representative of the Rafiq-e-Hajj Committee, Babu Imran Qureshi said that the training would facilitate pilgrims to perform the holy religious obligation according to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He said the ministry was expected to pronounce the inclusive Hajj training schedule of the intending pilgrims of the government Hajj scheme next week. He said teams of Rafiq-e-Hujjaj Committee master trainers were performing the religious obligation in 35 cities in the country for the last over three decades on their own expenditure.
Earlier on Thursday, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri had announced 179,000 intending Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj this year.
The minister had performed the computerized balloting at his office in Islamabad to select the individual who would perform the religious obligation this year.
He said 149,295 Hajj applications were received this year out of which 105,413 have been selected under government scheme through computerized open balloting.
The minister said 7,648 applicants, who remained unsuccessful for the last three consecutive years, will be selected without balloting.
