ASUNCION: Former Brazilian football famous star Ronaldinho and his brother were detained in Asuncion of South America on fake travelling documents.
As per details, Asuncion, Paraguay’s public ministry said, after entering the country on fake passports Ronaldinho and his brother were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General’s office Asuncion in a tweet confirmed their arrest and said the player Ronaldinho with using a public document with false content.
Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto de Assis Moreira had completed a court appearance and left the area of Justice late Friday night.
On the other hand, after two hours of their departure, they got into a closed van at the National Police headquarters. The brothers’ lawyer, Adolfo Marin, said he did not understand why they had been detained.
Prosecutor Federico Delfino said he had decided not to follow allegations against them, as they throw in related information to the investigation and were acting in excellent manners in getting the fallacious Paraguayan documents.
Ronaldinho had been called to the Paraguayan capital by a charity for needy children, and to uphold his new book. Inspector leading the investigation said Ronaldinho was given a fake passport by Brazilian businessman Wilmondes Sousa Lira, who has been apprehended.
According to Delfino, their fake documents were detected upon appearance at the Asuncion international airport.
