ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that Ramadan moon would be sighted country-wide on 24 April.
Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter and said, “Ramadan moon will be sighted on April 24 in Pakistan and first Roza will be on April 25.”
انشااللہ رمضان المبارک کا چاند 24 اپریل کو پورے ملک میں دیکھا جا سکے گا اور25 اپریل کوپہلاروزہ ہو گا،روئت ھلال کمیٹی نے ذیعقداور رجب دونوں کی غلط تاریخ دیں 5 مارچ کو پارلیمان کی مذہبی امور کی کمیٹیوں کو بریفنگ دیں گے کہ عید اور اسلامی تہوار تقسیم نہیں اتحاد کا باعث بننے چاہئیں۔

He further said, “Ruet-e-Hilal Committee gave an incorrect date of Rajab,” adding that a briefing would be given to the parliamentary committee on religious affairs on March 5 in this regard.
He added, “Eid and other religious festivals should be a reason for joy and happiness, not divisions.”
Earlier in May 2019, Fawad Chaudhry announced the first-ever moon-sighting website of Pakistan, which was followed by the launch of the country’s first-ever moon-sighting app to share real-time information about the moon.
