ISLAMABAD: The All parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AHC-AJK) staged a protest outside the Indian High Commission (HC) in Islamabad today (Sunday) on the republic day of India.
The representatives of civil society and Hurriyat leaders attended the protest to mark January 26 as black day.
The protesters were holding banners and placards and were chanting slogans against Indian atrocities and in the favor of the independence of Kashmir.
The protesters said, “So-called Indian democracy has illegally occupied Kashmir territory,” adding that India had no right to celebrate its Republic Day in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Hurriyat leaders addressing the protest said, “India is a black spot on the face of democracy,” adding that Kashmiris would render every kind of sacrifice to get rid of Indian bondage.
On the occasion, the protesters released black balloons in the air as a symbol of their protest.
