KARACHI: Schools across Sindh have resumed their educational activities from today (Wednesday), however, the Department for Schools Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has extended the duration for winter vacation.
Academic activities have started in Sindh including Karachi, as educational institutions across the province reopened today after winter vacations.
Due to severe cold temperatures, most of the educational institutes witnessed low attendance of teachers and students. In addition, a number of the private schools have extended winter vacations till 6 January 6 due to cold temperatured in the city.
On Tuesday, Sindh education secretary Ahsan Ali Mangi had turned down rumours of extending winter vacations for educational instates.
The Secretary School Education and Literacy Department, Ahsan Ali Mangi had explained that schools would reopen from January 1.

The Sindh government in a notification said, academic activities to resume on 1 January 2020 all schools, colleges, public or private, under the Education Department will be reopened on January 1, the notification said.
On the other hand the Department for Schools Education, Balochistan had extended the duration for winter vacation due to severe cold waves in the province.
