PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has chaired a meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet today in ehich he stressed over-focusing on the promotion of tourism in the province.
KP Governor Shah Farman, Provincial Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan were present in the meeting at the Governor House in Peshawar.
During the provincial cabinet, the prime minister said that the purpose of merging tribal districts in the province was to bring these areas equal to the developed parts of the country.
According to the prime minister, generating job possibilities for the youth in the merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was among the top priorities of the incumbent government.
Imran Khan stressed that the incumbent government has provided record funds for the newly-merged tribal districts (NMTDs), and it was a huge achievement to take the state’s process forward.

Khan also directed the concerned authorities to take effective steps to enhance trade and business activities for the socio-economic development of merged districts and urged for enhancing employment opportunities in the erstwhile FATA areas.
Earlier, his airplane was diverted towards Peshawar due to severe weather whereas it was scheduled to fly towards Islamabad from Karachi. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman and Special Assistant to PM on Youth Affairs Usman Dar were also onboard.
While reiterating the government’s vision to bring Pakistan among the developed countries, the premier said that 2019 was our year of reforms and these reforms have started producing results that will be much more visible in the next year.
