LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani actor and screenwriter Vasay Chaudhry has tested positive for coronavirus.
Taking to Instagram today (Monday), Vasay said, “I have tested positive for COVID-19 and self quarantining. I have no symptoms. My family tested negative.”
He further said, “I have already notified people I have come in contact with recently to get themselves tested and self isolate if need be.”
Other than writing and appearing in films, Vasay is also a stalwart on Pakistani TV as the host of popular show Mazaaq Raat.
Earlier, it was also reported that another renowned TV personality, actor and director Rubina Ashraf, had tested positive and was in need of prayers as she struggled with the disease.
Pakistan’s total tally of coronavirus patients has crossed over 100,000 people, with over 2000 people losing their lives to the dangerous disease.
Earlier today (Monday), Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and incumbent Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid tested positive for the novel coronavirus, joining a growing list of politicians who have contracted the disease.
