The CERN Summer Student Program offers bachelor’s and master’s students in physics, computing, engineering and mathematics a rare chance to work with leading research teams at CERN in Geneva. Participants gain hands-on scientific experience while benefiting from a diverse, multicultural environment and building lasting global professional connections.

Program Details
- Duration: 8 to 13 weeks between June and September 2026.
- Location: CERN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
- Financial Support: Selected students receive a tax-free daily subsistence allowance of 93 CHF (approx. 2,800 CHF/month) to cover housing and meals.
- Travel & Health: Round-trip travel allowance to Geneva and comprehensive health insurance coverage are provided.
- Activities: Hands-on work on a technical/scientific project, attendance at a specialized lecture series by world-leading scientists, and visits to CERN’s unique facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student (not a PhD candidate).
- Applicants must have completed at least six semesters (three years) of university studies by summer 2026.
- Fields of Study: Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
- Language: Good knowledge of English is required; French is an advantage.
- Nationalities: Open to students of all nationalities including Pakistanis.
- Note that students from the USA, Japan, and Canada may need to apply through their respective national programs.
