LAHORE: Around 86 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Punjab, the largest province of Pakistan.
According to the latest figures released by the spokesperson of the Punjab Health Department, the total number of coronavirus cases in the province has reached 99,378. On the other hand, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has expressed concern over the rising cases of coronavirus in Karachi.
The Sindh Health Secretary in a briefing to the NCOC today said that cases of coronavirus are on the rise in Karachi but the city government is constantly monitoring the situation.
In this regard, Special Health Assistant Faisal Sultan said that the implementation of smart lockdown, contact tracing, and SOPs is essential. Faisal Sultan also said that access to coronavirus victims and the implementation of health protocol is also very important. A smart lockdown should be applied to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The NCOC said that 747 coronavirus cases were reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours. It may be recalled that the total number of people affected by the global coronavirus epidemic in Pakistan has reached 312,263 and 6,479 people have lost their lives.
The number of coronavirus active cases in the country is 8,903 and 296,881 patients have recovered. The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 136,795. 99,378 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,776 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,257 in Balochistan, 16,581 in Islamabad, 2,698 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 3,778 in Gilgit.
The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,234 in Punjab and 2,497 in Sindh, while the number has risen to 1,259 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 182 in Islamabad, 145 in Balochistan, 88 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 74 in Azad Kashmir. ۔
