ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi has said that the Pakistan People Party (PPP) leaders, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh should stop lying to the public regarding the province share in National Finance Commission (NFC).
On social media website Twitter, Ali Zaidi said that instead of misleading the public about the Federal Government not giving Sindh its share of NFC, the provincial government must improve the collection of its own revenue.
The federal minister said, “let’s separate fact from fiction about the shortfall of federal transfer to Sindh Government, adding that the federal government transferred budget of Rs. 614 billion last fiscal year and the actual amount of this fiscal year was Rs. 637 billion increased Rs. 23 billion.

Sindh Government Revenue budget last Fiscal Year was Rs. 280 billion; actual this FY Rs. 196 billion; declined by Rs. 84 billion, he added.
Earlier the day, PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman said that Sindh province was standing on the mountain of corruption. “The people of Sindh suffered an irreparable loss due to the Sindh government,” he added.
Additionally, he said, coronavirus screening tests were not being offered at every hospital in Sindh, which added to the people’s suffering, while medical facilities were not being made available to the poor at hospitals that had been established on amenity plots.
The PTI leader also claimed that the Sindh government refused the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) offer to install a gas pipeline due to the shortage of 200 MCF of gas. “PPP is responsible for load shedding of electricity and gas in the city,” he added.
