Ruling party members react strongly to Opposition’s APC

ISLAMABAD: The members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government reacted strongly to the Opposition’s All Parties Conference (APC), which was held in Islamabad today (Sunday) to devise an ‘anti-government’ strategy.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi has asserted that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had declared war with the entire Pakistani nation.

In a Tweet, Ali Zaidi said, “Nawaz says opposition’s struggle was not against Prime Minister Imran Khan but those who brought him into power. PTI has come to power with the votes of 17 million people not with the help of a chit.”

Reacting to the Opposition’s APC, Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar has Nawaz Sharif must recognize that the people of Pakistan had respected the vote in 2018 general elections.

“The nation had used its votes wisely. The result was that as soon as Nawaz Sharif was relieved of power, he had to hatch a scheme and flee the country,” he added.

میاں صاحب کو کوئی سمجھائے کے عوام نے 2018 الیکشن میں واقعی ووٹ کو عزت دی اور سمجھ بوجھ کر ووٹ استعمال کیا. اس کا نتیجہ یہ نکلا کہ میاں صاحب اقتدار سے تو فارغ ہوئے ہی، جعل سازی کر کے ملک سے بھی بھاگنا پڑا…. ووٹ کی اتنی عزت کافی نہیں یا مزید عزت افزائی کی ضرورت ہے؟

Taking to Twitter, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry asserted that one more episode of the ‘abbu bachao’ (save our fathers) campaign flopped. “Nawaz’s speech was shown live, what better proof of media freedom can be? he asked.

Referring to Nawaz’s remarks regarding Pakistan being subjected to military rule for 33 years, Fawad Chaudhry said that PML-N supremo was himself a part of the system for 15 years and served as a puppet.

Earlier, PPP’s Bilawal and delegations of the PML-N — including party president Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz — and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman arrived at the venue. PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari also addressed the APC via video link.
