KARACHI: The higher authorities of the Sindh Health Department have illegally promoted a four-grade driver to the post of ‘Non-Cadre Nursing Attendant’ at District Health Officer (DHO) West Karachi, it has been revealed.
According to details, the driver named Iqbal Pirzada was illegally promoted to a different cadre due to the alleged support of Sindh government officials. Sources have revealed the provincial health department had also given him a vehicle for personal use with a government driver.
Sources further revealed that the driver has not yet physically served the department but receiving the salary monthly. However, the driver’s cadre cannot be changed legally, until the Sindh government gives permission and reappoint the person on a different cadre.
Sources in health department have informed that the driver had recently bought a two-storey house. When contacted by M.M News, Iqbal Pirzada refused to answer in this regard and used abusive language.
Earlier, an alleged corruption of Rs8 million had been revealed in the supply of power generators to a Karachi’s quarantine center, set up for the prevention of coronavirus, it is learned.
According to details, a four-grade driver was found involved in corruption. The driver has recently got the post of Non-Cadre Nursing Attendant by taking a fake promotion in District Health Officer (West).
