KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education and Labour Saeed Ghani has announced that those colleges, which were closed due to either shortage of teachers or any other reason in the province, should be reopened and run under the public-private partnership.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the Department of Education Colleges held at his office in Karachi today (Tuesday).
The meeting was attended by Secretary Colleges Education Baqir Naqvi, Secretary Education Ahmed Bux Narejo, Additional Secretary Asif Memon, Senior Director Public-Private Partnership Dilawar Mangi, and others.
He further said that all the resources should be utilized efficiently to improve the standards of colleges in the province. “Programs should be formulated for the training of professors and teachers of colleges across the province,” he added.
He also pointed out the shortage of science teachers in the colleges of remote areas. In this regard, he said those fresh graduates, who have secured top positions from different universities, should be recruited as Internees there.
“The recommendations would be forwarded to the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for the appointment of those students who have secured Masters of Education from these Elementary colleges,” he added.
