KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today (Thursday) has witnessed a bearish trend as benchmark KSE 100-index closed with a decline of 182.44 points at 40,290.74 points.
The benchmark KSE 100-index gained significant points in early trading. However, all gains were erased during intra-day trading as the bourse lost control and declined before trading was suspended.
It eventually closed with a decline of 182.44 points (-0.45). The total volume of shares traded increased to 556.146 million valued at Rs19.348 billion.
As many as 419 companies transacted shares in the stock market, out of total 179 recorded gains and 220 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 20 companies remained unchanged during the day.
The top three companies traded were Unity Foods Ltd with a volume of 60,265,500 shares, Hascol petrol with 50,870,000, and Unity food (R) with 50,641,500.
The lower bench KSE 30 index also decline by 87.41 points and closed at 17,538.41 points. The total volume of scripts was 153.603 million. The KMI 30 index declined by 20.47 points and closed at 64,483.80 points, while All-Share Index dropped by 86.82 points and closed at 28,134.26 points.
