DERBY: Left-arm Pakistan opener Imamul Haq has been declared fit to bat by the team doctors after receiving a blow on left-hand during the second intra-squad practice match.
According to details, Imam injured his left hand while batting during the practice match in Derby on Friday. The left-hander was hit by a ball from pacer Naseem Shah.
Later, the team doctors declared him fit to bat and he took part in warm-up session prior to the start of the second day’s play. Pakistan team is currently preparing for the upcoming three-match Test series against England.
The first test match between Pakistan and host England will take place on August 5 at Old Trafford. The final two Tests will be played at the Rose Bowl.
The three T20Is will take place at Old Trafford on August 28, August 30, and the final match of the tour on September 1.
Fast bowler Mohammad Amir and masseur Mohammad Imran had also departed for England after their second COVID-19 tests returned negative, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced.
As per the revised Covid-19 regulations, Imran is categorised as a low risk after having recovered from the virus and, as such, will be integrated with the national side after one negative test, whereas Amir will remain in self-isolation until he returns two negative tests.
