ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz has asserted that an outdated, privileged and corrupt system based on nepotism and favoritism was defeated in the general election of 2018.
Talking to journalists in Islamabad today (Saturday), Senator Shibli Faraz said that July 25, 2018, was a historic day in the country’s democratic history as on that day the people of Pakistan joined hands to lay the foundation of ‘Naya Pakistan’.
He further said that the founders of the outdated system had only pursued their personal interests by ruining the national institutions and economy. “When PTI came into power, the country was mired in the debt trap, and was facing serious economic difficulties,” he added.
He also said, “The nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan set off on the path of reforms with a new determination,” adding that the pandemic was not only fought and contained but also the lives and livelihood of the people were protected.
Referring to the foreign policy, the federal minister said that the PTI-led federal government has adopted a successful foreign policy while vigorously highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level.
He also highlighted various programmes launched by PTI government, which include Kamyab Naujawan programme, uniform curricula, the Billion Tree Tsunami project, acceleration in work of China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects, start of dams’ construction and the housing project for low-income people. “These projects are the beginning of the country’s development,” he claimed.
