KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Masood Alam, a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officer with dual citizenship, allegedly involved in major corruption scandals.
As per details, Masood Alam is considered to be the closest KMC officer to the Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar. Relevant sources have informed that the Mayor’s Secretariat has received a letter from the accountability watch-dog to summon Masood Alam.
According to the letter, the accountability bureau has summoned the KMC officer on Monday, July 27, and has also sought the details of service records, passport, and personal assets.
Masood Alam is an employee of the Sindh Forest Department who was transferred into Karachi Municipal Corporation on the alleged patronage of the former mayor.
Earlier in May, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) launched an investigation against two officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Municipality (KMC) for corrupt activities.
The investigation has been launched against KMC Chief Engineer Najeeb Ahmed and Additional Director Mazhar Sheikh. NAB Karachi sought service records, personal files, passports, and bank account details of the accused officers.
