MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan have urged the international community to raise their voices against the Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
In a video message issued today (Friday), AJK President appealed to the United Nations not to blur the focus on torture where it is pervasive.
Sardar Masood Khan said that torture is a crime against humanity and it is prohibited by international law and all religions. “Yet, torture is committed every day by Indian troops in IoK,” he added.
He further said, “Torture has been committed by the BJP-RSS regime by reoccupying and colonising IoK against the will of its 14 million people and enforcing decrees whereby the entire territory is now ruled by foreign capital, Delhi.”
He also criticized the Modi-led Indian government and said, “Kashmiri young men are killed in fake encounters, and sexual molestation is used as a weapon of war.” He said that they are deprived of their rights and their homeland by introducing new domicile laws in the disputed territory.
“Kashmiris are being robbed of their jobs, livelihoods, businesses, and land. Systematically, the demography of the disputed valley is being altered permanently,” he added.
Sardar Masood Khan said. “According to the Fourth Geneva Convention, the ICC Statute and international humanitarian law, India is doing in the occupied region is a war crime.”
“Thousands of politicians are illegally arrested and are being subjected to the vicious torture leading in many instances to death and disability,” he added.
He informed that some 13,000 boys and children, as young as 10, are caged in concentration camps where they are being tortured. In this regard, he further urged the international community to play its role in their release.
