LAHORE: A notification has been circulating on social media regarding the ban on all poultry products in Punjab due to the presence of the novel coronavirus.
However, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad took to Twitter and clarified that the notification is fake. The concerned authorities haven’t issued a notification in this regard.

According to the [fake] notification, the deadly coronavirus has been found in poultry products in Punjab which can be more lethal to humans therefore all sale of poultry products has been banned with immediate effect.
The notification further stated that all poultry production and sale are therefore suspended till further notice and Deputy Commissioners are directed to take immediate action.
On the other side, Pakistan Poultry Association irked on the social media posts rumours over ‘chicken have coronavirus’ and strongly condemned the baseless propaganda against the poultry products, saying that the rumours are completely fake and baseless.
Pakistan Poultry Association Vice-Chairman, Ch. Fargham said that the coronavirus has not been reported in any chicken product in any part of the country.
