RAWALPINDI: Police have offered protection to a 12-year-old victim of sexual abuse named, Iqra Fatima, and her family after a video statement went viral on social media.
As soon as the video went viral, senior police officers including SSP Investigation Muhammad Faisal, SP Saddar Ziauddin Ahmed, ASP Banesh Fatima rushed to the house of the victim, Iqra Fatima.
In this regard, CPO Rawalpindi was forced to take notice after the video statement of Iram Fatima, while CPO Rawalpindi was allegedly ignoring the case.
According to the video statement, the accused are constantly threatening Iqra Fatima and trying to kill her.
Earlier, Iqra Fatima’s statement has been recorded under section 164, however, it has been agreed to re-record the statement before the court on the concerns of the victim girl. The police will provide all possible protection to Iram Fatima and her family.
Sources informed that the accused named in the case have already been arrested and their DNA tests have been done, while the investigation is being conducted on merit.
The girl and her mother have thanked MM News and said that due to timely coverage, the police are now taking stern action against the accused.
