KARACHI: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have reached 2,119 after 178 cases have reported from different areas across the country on Wednesday.
According to the national dashboard, the number of patients recovered from the disease stands at 82, while, 28 people have died from coronavirus and 22 remain critical condition in different hospitals.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza in a daily briefing on COVID-19, said 709 cases were reported from Sindh, 748 from Punjab, 158 from Balochistan, 58 from Islamabad, 184 in Gilgit Baltistan and nine in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He said 24 more patients had recovered during last 24 hours, bringing total number to 82. Mirza further said that 8,893 people were living in different quarantine centers out of which test of 5,198 people were conducted with ratio of 19 percent positive cases and 81 percent negative cases.
Total deaths: 28, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 06, Sindh: 09, Balochistan: 01, Gilgit-Baltistan: 02, Punjab: 10.
More than 37,000 deaths from the virus have been recorded globally so far. Meanwhile, more than 785,000 COVID-19 cases of the virus have been registered in 200 countries.
