KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had always committed to protecting the rights of the minorities.
This he said while participating in the ongoing religious festival in Swami Narayan Mandir in Karachi and vowed to protect the rights of the minorities.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah mentioned that it was the government of Pakistan People’s Party that always reserved seats for the members of the minorities more than any other political party in the country.
The PPP leader said that he had come here with a message of peace, adding that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah not only participated in the religious festivals of the minorities themselves, but they also instructed the others party members to follow the same.
Shah said that the PPP during the abundance of legislations had sheltered the rights of the minorities in Sindh province. The info minister vowed that the provincial government would continue to set up whatever legislation needed for the shield of the members of the minorities.
While giving a comparison between Pakistan and India, he said that in India, the members of the minorities were suffering immensely owing to the depressing policies of the Modi government.
He said while in Pakistan, the minorities were free to go anyplace in the country where they wanted and practice their religion with complete liberty.
Shah, on behalf of the Sindh government, announced that the government would make available 10,000 copies of Bhagavad Gita for the members of the Hindu community soon. A Hindu delegation, led by Pandit Shayam Nand and Ram Yoga Das came from Australia to attend the festival and also met with Shah.
Meanwhile, talking to the media, the info minister said that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf had given nothing to the people, except inflation and unemployment. The problems of the people had increased manifold since PTI came to power, Shah said. He said that people wanted to get rid of this failed government as soon as possible.
Responding to a question, Shah said that Asad Umar and his colleagues were shedding crocodile’s tears. He said Sindh was the only province where the local government institutions were together and the legislatures of the local government were performing their jobs patiently.
Shah said that Chairman Pakistan People’s People Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had instructed to increase the authority of members of the local government institutions so as to further facilitate the people.
