ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office on Monday summoned the Indian Charge d’Affairs Gaurav Ahluwalia and a strong protest was lodged at the recent ceasefire violations by India in Jabbar, Sandhara, Sumbal Gali and Dabsi valley of Kotli along Line of Control.
Condemning the targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian forces, Director General, South Asia and SAARC Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry underscored that such senseless Indian acts are a clear violation of the 2003 ceasefire understanding and complete disregard for international human rights and international norms.
He said such aggressive acts by India further vitiate the tense atmosphere along the LoC and are a threat to regional peace and stability. He said by raising tensions along the LoC and the Working Boundary, India cannot divert attention from the deterioration of the human rights situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He called upon the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire agreement; probe incidents of intentional ceasefire violations and keep peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

He also urged New Delhi to permit the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan to play its mandated role as per the United Nations Security Council.
