Pakistan has witnessed a significant advancement in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, marked by a landmark agreement between Alibaba Cloud and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Alibaba Cloud and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan to provide Pakistani youth with world-class education in AI and cloud computing.
Under this agreement, specialised Alibaba Cloud training centres will be established across Pakistan through Alkhidmat Foundation’s flagship educational platform, Bano Qabil. These centres will deliver hands-on training in cutting-edge technologies to students.
The MoU was signed by Mr Hank Shao, representing an authorised partner of Alibaba Cloud, and Mr Naveed Ali Baig on behalf of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
This collaboration has been formalised between Alibaba Cloud Private Limited, Singapore, and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, with support from Cognix Solutions Private Limited, Alibaba Cloud’s partner in Pakistan.
As part of the agreement, two state-of-the-art Alibaba Cloud centres will be established in Pakistan—one at the Bano Qabil Incubation Centre in Karachi and the other at the Bano Qabil Innovation Centre in Lahore. These facilities will provide training based on internationally recognised curricula in AI and cloud computing.
Through this programme, students will have the opportunity to obtain globally recognised professional certifications, significantly enhancing their prospects in the international job market.
In addition, structured training and certification programmes will be organised for educators to ensure they remain aligned with modern technologies and global standards.
Furthermore, hackathons under the theme “AI for Pakistan’s Future” will be आयोजित, offering young participants the opportunity to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions to national challenges. Outstanding teams will also receive recognition and encouragement.
Alkhidmat Foundation’s “Bano Qabil” programme has emerged as one of Pakistan’s leading educational initiatives, with over 1.15 million students registered to date and more than 90,000 successfully completing various courses and obtaining certification.
This agreement has been established on a non-commercial basis, with the aim of promoting digital skills among youth, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy.
According to experts, this partnership is expected to play a vital role in reinforcing Pakistan’s technology ecosystem and developing a skilled workforce for the future.
