KARACHI: A fresh corruption scandal seems to have engulfed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led administration in Sindh, sending ripples through the province’s police and journalistic circles.
According to Islamabad based journalist Shahzad Paracha, intelligence-led raids were conducted days ago at the official residence of a senior police officer in one of Sindh’s districts, resulting in the detention of the officer’s personal accountant and a local factory owner.

Authorities reportedly seized a significant amount of cash during the operation, raising questions about illicit financial dealings within the law enforcement hierarchy.
Paracha quoted insiders claiming the detained accountant has begun cooperating with investigators, providing evidence that implicates multiple police officers in financial corruption. The disclosures have triggered a wave of anxiety, with some individuals allegedly fleeing to undisclosed locations across the country to evade potential legal repercussions.
