The Pakistan Army has firmly rejected any link between terrorism, crime and political interests, warning that all Indian-backed terrorists, their facilitators and supporters will be dealt with decisively and without leniency.
The military also said no attempt to create divisions between the armed forces and the public would be tolerated.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference was held under the chairmanship of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The forum offered prayers for the martyrs of the armed forces, law-enforcement agencies and innocent civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents.
The conference paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism and in defence of the country against foreign-sponsored threats. Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.
The army chief also commended the forces for their intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations carried out across the country in recent months.
He said that joint efforts by the government and the military, along with the continued support of the public, were helping Pakistan move steadily towards stability, wider opportunities and dignity.
