Pakistan has agreed to restart the peace dialogue with the Afghan Taliban regime in Istanbul, a private TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to Dunya News, it has been decided to give another chance to peace talks in Istanbul. For this purpose, the Pakistani delegation has extended its stay in the Turkish city.
This third round of talks will focus on taking effective action against terrorists and ensuring that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan.
On Wednesday, Pakistan’s information minister announced that peace talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan ended in Istanbul without a deal.
Pakistan blamed Kabul’s delegation for obstructing progress. The failure of the negotiations casts doubt on efforts to stabilize relations between the uneasy South Asian neighbors.
The talks were aimed at reaching lasting peace between the South Asian neighbors after dozens were killed along their border in the worst such violence since the Taliban took power in Kabul in 2021.
