In a major success under Operation Al-Musmak, Pakistan Navy’s PNS Yarmouk seized narcotics worth over $972 million from two stateless vessels in the Arabian Sea within 48 hours.
Operating in support of the Saudi-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 150, Yarmouk’s elite crew intercepted and boarded the first vessel on October 18, recovering more than 2 tons of crystal meth valued at $822 million million. Shortly after, the team intercepted a second ship, seizing 350 kg of meth and 50 kg of cocaine worth $150 million.
The Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) praised the mission as one of its most successful counter-narcotics operations. US CENTCOM also commended the Pakistan Navy’s efforts.
Commissioned in 2020, PNS Yarmouk is a modern multi-role warship with advanced electronic warfare and surveillance capabilities.
This operation, along with previous high-profile missions, reinforces Pakistan’s critical role in ensuring maritime security and disrupting global drug trafficking routes.
