In a unique and innovative move, two brothers from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh have purchased a decommissioned Border Security Force (BSF) aircraft for ₹40 lakh, aiming to transform it into a luxury tourist attraction.
Virendra and Pushpendra Kushwaha, who run a scrap business, acquired the 55-seater cargo Avro aircraft, which measures 70 feet in length, 100 feet in width, and 15 feet in height, with a total weight of 20 tonnes.
A Hotel Inside an Aircraft
The Kushwaha brothers plan to convert the aircraft into a luxury stay at their Ananta Village Farm Stay near Ujjain. The plane will feature five high-end rooms, designed to give visitors the feeling of being inside a real aircraft.
In addition to accommodation, the aircraft will also serve as a venue for photo and pre-wedding shoots, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for tourists.
Virendra Kushwaha said the project aims to “introduce a new dimension to tourism” by giving visitors an immersive and entertaining experience.

As Ujjain prepares to launch its new airport soon, this grounded aircraft will serve a different purpose — promoting creative tourism rather than air travel.
The plane is expected to arrive in Ujjain within two days, after which renovation and interior work will begin.
Virendra added that while they have previously purchased defence equipment as scrap, this is the first time they’ve bought something of this scale — not to dismantle it, but to create something innovative.
