Left-arm fast bowler Usman Khan Shinwari has officially retired from international cricket, ending a six-year stint with the Pakistan national team during which he featured in 34 matches.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday, the 31-year-old represented Pakistan in one Test, 17 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 16 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between December 2013 and December 2019.
Shinwari earned his international caps in all three formats against Sri Lanka: T20I cap No. 58 in December 2013, ODI cap No. 216 in October 2017, and Test cap No. 240 in December 2019. He was also named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2018 ACC Men’s Asia Cup.
Throughout his career, Shinwari took one wicket in his lone Test appearance, 34 wickets in ODIs, and 13 in T20Is. Among his standout performances were two five-wicket hauls in ODIs — 5 for 34 in Sharjah in 2017 and 5 for 51 in Karachi in 2019, both against Sri Lanka.
In domestic cricket, he featured in multiple Pakistan Super League (PSL) seasons, playing for three different franchises. Across 39 PSL matches, he claimed 42 wickets, with best bowling figures of 4 for 15.
