A case has been registered against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Deepika Padukone after a technical defect was allegedly found in a Hyundai car.
According to Indian media reports, a lawyer from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, Kirti Singh, filed a case against the company’s managing director, CEO, and showroom owners over alleged defects in the car’s manufacturing.
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were also named in the case, with the accusation that they promoted defective cars through advertisements.
In the FIR, Kirti Singh stated that she purchased a car worth ₹23.97 lakh in 2022 through a bank loan. She claimed her decision was influenced by advertisements featuring the two Bollywood stars, along with the brand’s assurance that the car was completely “trouble-free.” However, within a few months of use, the car allegedly developed technical problems and was involved in several accidents due to these issues. When she contacted the dealership, she was reportedly informed that the vehicle had a manufacturing defect that could not be repaired.
The complaint accuses Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone of misleading consumers by endorsing defective products.
Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered against both actors and that an investigation is underway.
