Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that problems arising from flood situations in any province will be resolved at the national level with complete coordination.
In an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the flood situation, the Chairman of NDMA briefed on the recent rains and the flood situation in Punjab.
The Prime Minister said that timely early warnings about the flood situation saved valuable lives and property. This process of delivering advance warnings should continue in an even more effective manner.
Shehbaz Sharif said full cooperation will be extended with the provincial government for the restoration of roads. Problems arising from flood situations in any province will be resolved at the national level with complete coordination.
He stated that the federal government provided all possible cooperation in view of the recent flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; the federal government will also fully cooperate in Punjab. It must be ensured that advance warning of the flood streams reaching Sindh after Punjab is provided at all times.
He directed that public representatives and government institutions should ensure timely evacuation in affected areas and effectively supervise relief operations. Protective measures should be taken under an effective strategy to save human lives and property, crops, and livestock.
