The inflow of overseas workers’ remittances into Pakistan stood at $3.2 billion in July 2025, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data showed on Friday.
According to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), remittances rose by 7.4 percent year-on-year compared to $3 billion recorded in the same month last year. However, on a month-on-month basis, remittances declined by 6 percent from $3.4 billion in June.
It should be noted that Pakistan relies heavily on foreign workers’ remittances to stabilize the country’s external account.
In July 2025, Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia sent the highest amount, totaling $823.7 million — around 8 percent higher than the $760 million sent in the same month last year.
Remittances from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded a 9 percent year-on-year increase, rising to $665.2 million in July from $611.2 million. On a monthly basis, however, they fell by 7 percent compared to $717.2 million in June.
From the United Kingdom, remittances in July stood at $450.4 million, a 16 percent decline from $537.6 million in June 2025. Nevertheless, they posted a 2 percent year-on-year increase.
In July 2025, Pakistani expatriates in the United States sent $269.6 million, reflecting a 4 percent monthly and 10 percent annual decrease.
