All 27 hostels of Punjab University will remain closed for the duration of the summer vacation, from June 6 to August 27, according to an official notification issued by the administration.
The notice specifies that students in their final semester who are working on their thesis must seek formal permission from university authorities to remain in residence. Additionally, academic departments planning to continue educational activities during the summer break are required to obtain prior approval from the Vice Chancellor’s office.
This marks a shift from previous years, when students could stay in hostels at their own discretion during the summer. Under the new directive, only international students will be allowed to stay in the hostels throughout the vacation period.
University officials stated that the decision aims to streamline hostel operations and ensure efficient management during the academic off-season.
