JACOBABAD: At least six personnel of Anti-Terrorist Force lost their lives in a deadly shootout with kidnappers in the jurisdiction of Moladad police station in Jacobabad, a city located on the border of Sindh and Balochistan.

Among the fallen personnel are Inspector Tayeb Imrani and constables Nisar, Wahab, Khadim Hussain, Usman and Raiz Hussain, who were all part of an operation against kidnappers.

According to reports, the personnel of Balochistan’s Anti- Terrorist Force were in hot pursuit of kidnappers who had abducted someone from Osta Muhammad. In their efforts to recover the abductee, they entered Jacobabad in Sindh province, Jagir area. However, the bandits immediately opened fire on the police, killing three of them on the spot and injuring another three.
The shootout continued, as a result of which three more officers lost their lives in the line of duty. Two more cops were injured in the crossfire. All the injured and deceased personnel were rushed to the district hospital in Jacobabad for medical attention.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the local police force as well as the border area, with senior police officials expressing their condolences and praising the bravery and sacrifice of the fallen officers.
