The Pakistani rupee posted a slight uptick of 0.01% against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Thursday.
By the close of trading, the currency settled at 278.77, gaining Rs0.03 compared to the greenback. A day earlier, it had closed at 278.80.
Meanwhile, the US dollar remained close to a more-than-two-week high. The dollar index held steady at 98.852 after rising 0.3% on Wednesday, staying near its strongest level since April 13.

In Asian trading, the euro was at $1.1689, while the British pound stood at $1.34877, with both currencies up 0.1%.
