Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra’s husband, Raghav Chadha, has reportedly left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following which he has come under intense criticism on social media.
According to NDTV, after the Rajya Sabha member announced his move to the BJP, users began unfollowing him in large numbers. Within just 24 hours, more than one million (10 lakh) users reportedly unfollowed Raghav Chadha.
Data shows that on the day of the announcement, Raghav had 14.2 million followers, which has now dropped to around 12.5 million. This suggests he has lost approximately 1.7 million followers in total.
Meanwhile, AAP MLA and spokesperson Sanjeev Jha reacted to the development, stating that party volunteers and supporters had started unfollowing Raghav on Instagram, alleging that he had betrayed the party. He added that people have not accepted his decision.
It is also worth noting that, according to reports, seven AAP MPs including Raghav Chadha have joined the BJP. On social media, users have labelled him a “traitor” and “betrayer” following his alleged political shift.
