Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
A meeting between the two leaders is underway during which regional situation will be discussed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are also participating in the meeting.
Earlier, Araghchi held his first working meeting of the visit with Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Islamabad.
Araghchi’s meeting followed the late‑night arrival of the Iranian delegation on Saturday, when the team was received at the airport by Field Marshal Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
Official visuals released to the media showed Pakistan’s Director General of Inter‑Services Intelligence and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi — who also chairs the Pakistan Cricket Board — present on the Pakistani side.
The Iranian delegation included senior figures such as parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh, underscoring the weight Tehran attached to the visit.
